General Absences:
California schools will no longer receive funding for students who are not in school; this includes students who are ill or absent for any excused reason. It is essential that your child attend school whenever possible, including partial days before and/or after appointments.

Excessive Absences:
The District will periodically send out letters to parents with students who have missed a great amount of critical learning time due to being chronically absent. These total up to 10% or greater of the school year. (Education Code 60901)
You will now be required to provide official verification from your student's physician or dentist for the school attendance office within 48 hours of any future absences.
